Hyundai Construction Equipment USA, part of the Hyundai Heavy Industries network of construction equipment manufacturers, is a leader in the heavy industries sector. Committed to providing its clients with the highest-quality industrial equipment and services, Hyundai Construction Equipment serves customers from its 101 dealerships across North America, as well as its headquarters in Norcross, GA.

But Hyundai’s dealers in the U.S. and Canada were having trouble managing, tracking and ordering the materials they needed to meet their marketing and branding goals. Instead of having one vendor managing the entire process, Hyundai’s marketing was spread out between a variety of vendors, requiring the team to oversee each separate component—from creative marketing to printing and fulfillment, the team managed it all.

As you can imagine, this meant that the Hyundai team was spending a large amount of time tracking projects and chasing down promotional items. Not only that, but ordering marketing materials was a headache for the dealerships, since Hyundai didn’t have one centralized store.

We began by walking Hyundai through our design to delivery process, which includes the brand advancement, manufacturing, branded merchandise, warehousing, kitting and fulfillment capabilities they were seeking. Not only would these solutions consolidate Hyundai’s marketing process to one vendor, but it would eliminate the need for Hyundai’s team to manage the process—freeing up valuable time for them to focus on their core responsibilities.

Consolidating to One Vendor

Working with the Hyundai team, we established goals for the project, which included consolidating to one vendor, reducing costs, creating a one-stop-shop for all of their North American dealers to purchase brand-related items and the inclusion of seasonal promotions on the branded marketing eStore.

With the green light from Hyundai, GBS BrandConnect easily combined Hyundai’s print and promotional eStores into one convenient site. GBS BrandConnect also offered refreshed and improved promotional and apparel options—an added benefit that helped Hyundai meet its goal for seasonal site promotions.

Over a span of 45 days, GBS BrandConnect implemented this full-service solution for Hyundai, which includes:

• Creative services, design and SEO
• Print on-demand marketing materials
• Branded merchandise and apparel
• Warehousing, kitting and fulfillment of all orders
• eCommerce and shopping cart experience

Results

This new-and-improved marketing program has allowed Hyundai to save approximately 20% on their print spend and about 10% on their branded merchandise by eliminating the need for bulk orders. With on-demand ordering, Hyundai can now purchase branded marketing materials on an as-needed basis. On-demand ordering has also reduced Hyundai’s print obsolescence by 100% and resulted in an additional 30% cost savings by reducing the need to store large quantities of materials.
